Hello, I was encouraged by the hiring manager for the position to apply for it. I know the hiring manager pretty well and he is interested in bringing me on-board. How does the hiring process in Microsoft work? Does hiring manager have an influence in hiring? Is there a bar-raiser or HC that makes the final determination? Thanks
It's 4As. Four interviews, hm typically being last one. You need accept in all.
That’s great to know guys... it sounds like HM has fair degree of influence in the process
Is there a hiring committee(like Google) or bar raiser (like amazon) who also interviews?
No
Actually kind of. There is no committee, but there is a special interviewer, usually at the end, who's job it is to determine fit for microsoft, help set level etc. In some groups that person cannot be the HM (in some it can of that person is also a certified AA interviewer). When I was in windows our org had relatively few AA interviewers so I got to do a lot of interviews for different groups.
Sorry for sounding dense, what’s an AA interviewer?
Also, can AA be part of 4 person interview or will they be the 5th?
What’s an AA interviewer?
Awesome Amazonian

Your HM will make the final decision based on feedback.
