Can anyone who was part of the Mulesoft acquisition tell me how it progressed? Tableau just got bought and I'm curious if all employees were retained or if some got converted to stock then bought out immediately to be laid off etc.
I am going to join tableau next Monday and heard about the salesforce news, will it impact me any ways, thoughts?
No you should be fine. All your comp and stock will be unchanged
How much would a SWE who’s RSU have vested only 2 years be valued at?
Look in your Schwab account and it'll tell you
Just checked....holy shit lol
Mulesoft was a complementary product, but for tableau there is an equivalent analytics cloud in Salesforce that was trying to do more or less the same thing
Yes, that is going to be the wild card. Will Salesforce try and combine Tableau into Analytics cloud or just get rid of it....With an acquisition soo large their will be attrition. My gut would says if you are a good engineer or sales person you should be fine. I would worry more about the roles like accounting, legal, compliance where you will have very clear duplicate jobs that don’t need to scale in a linear way to the added revenue.
I disagree that the roles you listed are duplicative. Tableau is going to be independently operated.
