Need to get a web app MVP built - what's the way?

I want to build an MVP of a web app. A decent proxy is the wix.com editor. I have minimal JS skills. I tried writing React and the pages turned out ugly af. I will, however, write the back end myself. I need help with the front end app.

What's the lowest cost way of getting to an MVP? I live in a major tech hub, and I'm open to contracting it to India/Ukraine etc. Anyone got something like this done on upwork or Fiverr?

I use Fiverr for some projects. It can be hit or miss really. The better you’re requirements the better your product. They usually do exactly and only what you ask for - quite literally. Also their first question will be “what’s your budget” and 12/10 times their cost will be your budget or more.

That said I’ve had some good stuff come out of it too!!

Entire apps? Or logos and designs?

Usually just component parts of whatever I’m looking to do. I’ve gotten scripting, design work, logo work and even audio mixing work (with great results). I don’t usually use Fiverr for doing a whole app design. I can’t bring myself to trust a whole project to it yet based on results. But component based I can hedge my bets and correct any issues at a smaller scale.

Any time!! Good luck on your project! There are other sites with more formalize freelancer services. Expect a higher cost, but also high quality. Some will even let you see the screen caps / videos of your contract employee to make sure they’re actually working and not facebooking for 3 weeks and cramming code at deliverable time.

If your problem is ugliness then hire a designer. Since you don’t have an eye for design, you’ll never fix your ugliness problem alone

Where do I find such a Dev? Someone that would work weekends or evenings and get paid by output?

Just go get a web template that has the widgets you need to get your MVP out the door. You can use things like bootstrap to make things pretty and get a fancy looking skin for it.

Wix.com sucks! Hire a freelancer to help you.
