I have an offer. Thinking about the best way to negotiate. I saw that the average pay on Paysa for my position is about $10k higher than my offer. Should I bring this up in my counter offer? Or will they discount that data as irrelevant? any tips?
Just say that you are expecting 10k more. Don't bring any data sources unless they are competing offers.
Bringing up Paysa or Glassdoor estimates as a measure is never a winning strategy. You should rather say, as per the market pay and my other comparable offers, I can’t afford less than x amount. I do have little room for negotiation but I expect to make around that.
Sounds good thanks.
Paysa data is completely useless, no one would take it seriously (or Glassdoor).
Earlier today someone on reddit was using Glassdoor to argue that most SWEs at Google and FB make less than 150k TC. I just.. lol.
Paysa is not at all accurate!
If you want to get underpaid!
