Negotiations after accepting offer at google

I felt that I was lowballed for a non tech role by the combo of not telling me the level, comp range and asking my expectations first. In panic, I signed and have other competing offer but I would rather lean towards google, however it leaves a bitter taste that I found my level is higher after signing the offer. Has anyone ever tried negotiating after signing the offer?

Why does a level matter regarding an offer that u accepted? You accepted the offer and were happy, why does it matter now?

Microsoft Zuneus OP Jul 14, 2018

Well it does matter in terms how much experience I have and coming in low at the level.

What was the offer?

Microsoft Zuneus OP Jul 14, 2018

Mid l4 while actual level is l5

I mean the TC

Anyone has actual/second hand experience around negotiating after signing?

It’s poor form but you can try only if you have a credible backup offer you’d be willing to take if your offer is pulled. I would position it as other offer came in late and nothing about level complaints

I keep hearing theoretically they could pull it back, however never heard actually happening especially at Google. Is it really that rare to negotiate after signing?

TC or GTFO

Nope- too easy to identify

That seems... unlikely. Just round the numbers slightly. Google hires thousands of people regularly with similar comps.

Bumping the thread in case anyone can provide any input...
