My sister got the following offer recently from a non-FANG company. Base - $120K Sign-on - $30K Stock - $130K/4 years She has on-site loops scheduled with Amzn/Goog/Microsoft/LinkedIn. To increase the chances of getting better offers, does it make sense to present the numbers to the recruiters before hand or wait? I know the maximum Microsoft will do for stock for new grads is 120K/3.5 years. Wonder if other companies also have a defined stock ceiling for new grads.
MS or PHD? Decent offer for MS.
MS
She’s underpaid then. She can probably double the equity even without a competing offer.
Nah ms can go higher. And they’ll budge on the sign, too
Interesting, recent posts seemed to suggest $120K is the highest they'll go for stocks.
Yea that was just the standard return intern offer. I’ve heard of them matching fb offers by giving l61 + more stock and matched fb return intern bonus. This was for exceptional candidate, though
Why are people so smart??
If they’re anything like me, somewhat smart in a very narrow domain, and really dumb in every other aspect of life.
So what dude, if it means you’re working at top companies, I’d rather be smart in one domain. I suck right now at these interviews, never get past the phone screen :(
Which non-fang company this? (looks like a good offer)
Apple
It’s sort of stupid that we don’t include Apple in fang
Linkedin will definitely go higher on the stocks for an engineering or product position. Base seems about market.
She should interview at Snapchat. Much stronger new grad offers
Wouldn't say much stronger given the vesting schedule and volatility
She applied but I think didn't get a response or didn't get considered for an interview
I got more stock in my MS offer
I know plenty of people who’ve gotten more stock
Is Linkedin, Amazon still hiring new grads with MS?
I would wait until she gets offers, and if they’re lower, then show it to the recruiters.
