Optimum performance for 5-6 hours back to back interviews

Hey guys, just wondering how you prepare yourself for 5-6 hours back to back interviews. Drink some red bull before interviews? How you sleep on time? Meditation? Some medicine? I actually blanked out in my 4th round at Amazon and totally bombed it. Just don't want to repeat that again considering my first 3 rounds were good and I think the last one was bar raiser. I gave shitty reply to, why Amazon question, even though I prepared that before hand. I'll appreciate any tips tricks. May you pass resume screening at The Albertsons!! TC 190k Yoe 11 Age 35

I lay off Caffeine entirely; it makes my social anxiety worse, and its really important to be a good listener during interviews. But that’s your call as it works differently for everyone Stop prep 2 days before interview. 8 hours of sleep the night before, arrive on campus early and make social chitchat to take your mind off anything else going on in your life Ask for a bathroom break between each interview. Just walking and clearing your mind before the beginning of each interview helps Source: cleared amazon and a couple other FAANG-like onsites, unfortunately no F/G yet

Thanks about breaks, I actually took only 1 in 4 back to back rounds. Damn, will keep that in mind next time

+1 Avoid caffeine and drink water all through.

If you get nervous, see if your doctor can prescribe beta blockers. Also just having answers to leadership principle questions prepared well in advance helps. I’ve been the hiring manager a handful of times and had a candidate bring printed answers, which I thought was smart. I agree with the idea to make sure to ask for “bio breaks” in between loops to get a drink of water and clear your head for 5 minutes. I had a candidate do well on the first couple of interviews, then completely fizzle out on the last half. Make sure you’re feeling good throughout. Then grab a drink and go for a walk after it’s all done - you’ll deserve it!

Thank you. I heard Google process is that they take 2 rounds then lunch break and then remaining rounds. Does something like this happens in Amazon?

Amazon B-Lumbergh Jun 18, 2019

Typically, yes. If you have an on-site interview loop day, you should have a lunch with a “lunch buddy” half way through the day. The lunch buddy is usually someone on the team you’re interviewing for. It’s your time to ask whatever you want and it’s not to be considered in the interview outcome/evaluation.

Sparkling water helps. Eat snack bars in between. And frankly, ask for a break. Stretch, drink water.
