Just recieved an software engineer offer from Oracle in SF. Base: 130k According to glassdoor, this would make me a software engineer 3, but the title doesn’t matter. Just wanted to hear people’s opinion on this offer. Edit: I have 4 years of work experience.
What do you expect when Larry lost close to half a billion investing in Tesla. He needs to recover that by reducing their pay which is already low.
Don't trust Glassdoor for salary. They combine 15-20 years old salaries without so much as inflation adjustment. That's why they are much lower than actual salaries. Check levels.fyi if you want current salaries.
Levels.fyi for Oracle is not representative of reality. A lot of the comp numbers there are oci offers which are ridiculously high by Oracle standard.
Dude. As an E8 ok the east coast I now feel castrated. Holy mother of God... I am joining the dark side, like, asap. How does an E8/MBA join the pantheon?
SDE3 base should be 140k. Not all teams offer RSUs / bonus at signing, unfortunately. Personally, I think this is very low for SF. Considering that Oracle is stingy with bonuses and raises, I'd guess that this is going to be your entire TC for the next 2-3 years. Pass.
I don’t know if this is a SDE3 position though.
What is the RSU numbers. It’s too low unless you are desperate. With the current situation I would stay away from Oracle.
What current situation? Negotiating an offer with them now, but it's in financing
At this point, you might as well as go work for one of many startups. 1) you get the same pay with some stock option (lottery but still better than nothing. 2) much better learning and growth as an engineer.
Sorry bro. New grad here. 126k base.
4 years exp seems more like IC2 to me.
I got ic3 with a little more than 4 yoe, so it's not impossible.
It’s super low for SF. You can double that at other companies.
Looks very low for SFO. What is the bonus & stocks?
Its average salary based on the skill.
No bonus or stocks. Apparently Oracle does not offer these.
