Oracle Seattle principal TC
I just got a call from the recruiter from Oracle and she asked for my expectations. I told her I'm expecting around 340k. I feel like I should shouldn't have given that number. I was wondering if that is a good number I gave or did I under sell myself. YOE 8, currently 63 at msft. TC: 270k

What’s your thought on OCI? Given your yoe it seems you can get that number at minimum at most companies.

How is that high? MS 63 is equivalent to senior at Oracle right?
You can easily do 420k
340k for principal in OCI sounds low, based on other OCI offers I have seen on blind. If Oracle does make an offer, you can negotiate at that point. Forget what you told the recruiter.

You should be able to get 400. That place is desperate for good engineers and needs to compete with FANG. They often up level candidates these days just to be able to complete. They used to hire top talent, but not so much anymore.
