Product Design Tutor Available
Hi all. I’ve been getting lots of requests via LinkedIn and internally around how to become, and what to expect as a product designer in the modern tech space. I’m currently working as a full-time senior product designer in Seattle, WA, been through Microsoft, Facebook, Google etc lots of interviews. If anyone needs a product design tutor, I’m currently opening up to take on a couple students during the week. I can help you learn about systems design, internal cultures at large companies, navigating complex relationships, interviewing, design portfolios, and upping your overall design process and skills. This is a smart move. I’m considering something similar in my market (Boston). There seems to be a ton of people looking to get into the field but at best they have portfolios and knowledge out of General Assembly or an out of touch art school. Consider mentoring a select few and just give back. What comes around goes around.
I would love to connect, I have been looking for a mentor or tutor since I decided to go to the next level. I have 10+ years of design experience but as a product designer around 4+ I also have a team of 23 designers that report to me and I share the load with another lead designer, I have some impostor syndrome issues and also I am stagnated with my portfolio, many people say they see my LinkedIn profile impressive but I don't get called for interviews as I would like. I feel I have some clean up work to do and need to refine how others perceive me online. I am in Central time and would love to connect if you happen to have time for me, thank you in advance for your willingness to give back, I also give back mentoring at Designlab for almost 4 years now.
