Qualtrics work life balance

I am considering applying to Qualtrics and wondering how is work life balance there? Commuting from the Eastside what time will I expected to be at work and until what time? Also how many hours per week are you putting in overall (late nights or weekends)? Do you still recommend it?

Total flexible days off (vacation+sick time) is 15. 40 hours is usual, but bonuses and raises are competitive, so many people work extra.

Commuting from the Eastside is easy to do. There’s a bus from the Eastgate P&R, which literally runs every 10 mins that takes you DT. It’s a 5-10 min walk from there.

I stick to a 40 hour week, with the occasional night hour. I’m fairly new and have recently been given a few really good opportunities for personal development.

On my team, we have people who come in at 8am every day and people who come in at 11am every day. It’s easy to wfh if something comes up too.

On call weeks can be pretty crazy sometimes. I definitely work more that week, but it’s not all that bad

The work they do there sounds really boring from what the recruiter was telling me.

      You like the work?

I mean, it depends on what you consider to be boring. Pretty much every team is working on building out new architecture though (getting out of the monolith). I’ve been here for about 9 months (I was part time for the first 5) and I’m building out a micro service in golang. I’ve also been involved in some of the architecture planning. I like what I’ve done so far

You can definitely do 40. You won't get punished for doing less, but I put in about 50ish, since they allow a lot of room for growth if you choose. The more family oriented people I know tend to put in 40, while the younger people gunning for promos tend to put in a lot more.

It's a pretty family friendly company. I know product managers that work your typical 40 hours with a few late nights here and there with no questions asked.

I interviewed there before they moved. It looked a little chaotic.

Sequoia gave them all that money in the massive funding round earlier this year so they could get you in there and slam ya!

Seriously, just ask them what they expect and what work life balance looks like. Communication is the way!
