Why do RSUs get suspended to vest when employee takes paid parental leave to when RSUs are part of TC? Does this happen in other companies too? TC: 180k SDE2

I’ve only seen this happen for men...not women.
I got my RSUs in the middle of my parental leave. I'm male for what it's worth.
Because you aren’t on the payroll during that time
You’re technically in a different category and paid by insurance
Which insurance? I thought companies provide this as a benefit
