    Tax and spend liberals.

    Don't-tax-but-also-spend conservatives.

If you look at budgets post-WW2 the amount of spending is the same between Republican and Democrat administrations. It's just whether it goes to the military or to civilians.

But Republicans are more frequently spending money they don't have. I'm not sure how that's the "conservative" position, but here we are.

Banning trans people from the military. Supporting the Masterpiece decision and pushing it further. Saying he'd veto the Equality Act.

They’re not banned, they just need to serve under their biological sex.

The equity act was terrible legislation, that’s not evidence of suppressing anything

That's equivalent to saying "black people aren't banned, they just have to pretend to be white".

No, because your race isn’t a self identified construct. The issue in the military is a ton of people signing up expecting the government to pay for sex change surgery. That’s what this is about.

Why would deficits be bad for Republicans? It triggers auto-cuts in some departments and gives them an excuse to propose cuts in public services because “spending is out of contrrrolllll!”

It’s like what started the yellow vest protests in France. Macron cut taxes on the rich then said “oh no, now we have to cut services and tax diesel to balance the budget due to a mandate we created ourselves.”

Tax revenue continues to increase, even after the tax cuts. Agreed spending should be cut to the bone. Glad the libs are coming around on that.

Second order effect is significant. Raising tax stiffles the economy and may reduce tax revenue.

What about the second order long-term effect of having to pay massive interest on massive debt, not to mention needing to have a showdown about the debt ceiling every few months?

Tax revenues from corporations are even lower than predictions, so we will be having the next debt ceiling fight this fall instead of in the winter as predicted.

Tax revenue wouldn’t be increasing if we hadn’t implemented the tax code changes as we would be in the midst of a recession based off of all historical data and the length of this acceleration. Why can’t people understand the economy is dynamic?

Before the corporate tax code change, companies were literally fleeing the country. The tax revenue from a company not in the US is $0.

Agreed we should cut government spending to reduce the debt.
