Renegotiating after official offer letter Amazon

Is there a possibility to get any raise after official offer letter is sent after first negotiation? I negotiated once and got an offer, told my number as well. But now after doing my research and talking to mates I realized I am not getting a good deal. Is it possible I talk to recruiter again and share my concern referencing my friend’s TC? Note: this is for amazon

I have 8 YOE and Being considered for SDE1 (ya sucked it!) base pay 125, 35 and 30 sign on, 45 shares. It looks pretty low to me but may be high for Sde1. What should I do?

Your recruiter isn't going to care about your friends TC. You have to make it about your knowledge and what you bring to the table. If you come in whiny like "my friend makes this though" then they'll probably tell you to fuck off.

But I already talked once and said the numbers. Have I lost my chance now?

Bdw, data above!

SDE1 with 8 yoe? I would have thought more like SDE3, no...? I asked for 310TC + sign on with the same yoe.

I dont know what they see! I was interviewed for SDE2. The interview went very well, very confident. The only reason I am inclining towards this offer is because, in a limited time I prepared all this shit that I dont do in my day to day work, really dint have time but somehow managed so its really hard for me to go over same stuff again. And its really hard to get into FAANG if one is not always prepared with LC questions.

So LC went well but LPs went poorly.

Can you share the offer and level details ? Compensation based on role and level varies a lot so you might be comparing with wrong mates :)

Based on my understanding, they assign the level based on how interview went. It definitely looks like they downleveled you. Is your 8+ yoe in relevant field ? There is no harm in asking politely that you were considering only senior positions Make sure to use appropriate language such that you’re not closing the door for the current offer too It’s certainly possible to negotiate the offer before you accept it I had the offer letter from Amazon and negotiated (not level though) and got revised 2nd letter

170k for new grad level is pretty good. Whether you want to accept a new grad level at 8 YOE is an entirely different matter.

Amazon AWS. Jul 1, 2019

All new grads are SDE1s, but not all SDE1s are new grads. No new grad is getting 170k. Just want to make sure that you don't confuse OP. SDE1 industry hire is much different than SDE1 University hire.

They are the same though. Same level in system, same promotion track, some might be higher in the band and some might be lower. There is no formal distinction.

I have feeling they're going to do the same to me. I'm also planning on jumping ship at C1 once I feel like I've hit the leetcode grind hard enough. I plan on hitting Microsoft first to get a competing offer. I think you're probably boned without one. 160-170k is more than you're gonna get just about anywhere else in DC though.

You can negotiate up until you accept. They can also stand firm or retract the offer.
