Reputation of SAP UX
Looking for honest feedback from fellow designers - when you see SAP on someone’s portfolio, what’s your reaction? What assumptions or expectations would you have? Joined because I was looking to solve complex problems, thinking of moving because of lack of growth opportunities... curious to know how the “brand” of SAP affects me when looking for new design adventures.

It’s just not really addressing the question. Like “not good” as in having SAP on your resume is a detriment? Actively harms your chances in a design role?
I'd say it's slightly better than ibm,cisco,etc. It would be a neutral to small positive in my book but I'm in tech.
What’s wrong with IBM or Cisco? They have some fairly complex and innovative stuff in B2B world. Maybe not the most compelling visuals, but if they’re interviewing for an Interaction Designer position for example, they probably have some pretty robust experience if they work for any of those companies.
I’m strictly into interaction design/ux research, so visuals aren’t a focus of my portfolio. Like you said, I’m hoping to draw from some strong examples in solving large-scale complex problems to remain competitive for new positions.
Maybe more difficult to land interviews as the perception of the company doesn’t exactly skew towards cutting edge design, but that’s only a fraction of the battle anyway. I imagine if you’re doing UX at SAP you’re solving some pretty big, interesting problems — so if you have good product work and can sell it well in an interview, I don’t think the company’s brand matters much at all. You’re also kind of immune to visual design criticism if you’re strictly UX.
How I wish it was true- the part of visual design not important if ur UX..I have given interviews in JPMC , capegemini n Accenture..the feedback was crazy! One said 'ur going in too much details of empathy n ideation hence not good' I mean it's crap!!
That you worked on some complex stuff + experience with big company working environment ( i.e. politics)
I would respond positively. Assumption is that you’ve dealt with considerable challenges and know how to get things done. Maybe people at places like Snap would dismiss it, but most places would register it as a positive. And if they don’t, you’d probably hate working there anyway.
