Can Amazon recover cost of H1B filing if you leave in less than one year?
Nope. That's the cost to hire you. Just like how anyone pays for your onsite interview expenses.
Are you sure? I just had a meeting with my manager and although he did not know - but he did bring up - what happens to your visa? I am scared because I have given notice now and I don’t Want to lose my visa or pay for it.
P.S: I did get the H1B this year, and now I have already got it transferred to a new employer.
Just Tobe clear. You got a new offer, a new employer filed a H1B and that's approved, and then you put resignation with current employer. Right? That should be the order when you are switching jobs. Don't send resignation unless you get an approval from new employer. Now with current employer they don't do anything to your petition/visa.
You can't pay for it even if you want it to, it's an employer cost, and once transferred to another employer they have nothing to do with you, they can't even block the transfer.
My manager seemed to mention about the visa which has gotten me off-guard.
