Asking for a friend, people say to put up with it and deal. There's lots of shitty leads. While I think you should be able to be on a team that doesn't make you hate your job. What do you guys think?
What's the shitty part?
1. TC? 2. tell your friend to get on Blind 3. admit it’s really you and not your friend 4. shitty lead in what sense? is he an ass or doesn’t know what he’s doing
TC is 190 Shitty in that he's an ass, overpowering convos talking over people, interrupting. Driving his own ideas instead of open to the team's. His immediate team has learned to live with it, but he also get in confrontations with our product team and even sister teams. I think he's pretty smart and that's why management lets him roam free. They probably can't afford to lose someone that has good knowledge of the systems
everyone is dispensable, management lets him roar free becuase he/his team must be yielding good results. Those types of managers have high attrition rates, so it’s best for your career growth/mental health to move on to a new , I mean your friend’s
Leave. My lead tanked mine and others careers. My only wish is that I’d left sooner.
Bad lead, so move. Leads who have high attrition usually get figured out and get canned, though that can take 2-3 years. The canned part assumes that our HR watched metrics around this. If they don’t, leave the org or company.
