Any one know the base / rsu range for product data scientists at snap? Also what is the work culture like there these days? Has really bad Glassdoor reviews but that can always be skewed
Snap definitely "had" a good product market fit.
Leadership, however, couldn't translate that fit to more defensibilty (moat)
Every comapny after getting a lot of users, try at least once, to get into hardware (Google Facebook snap) but rarely do they succeed. Mainly because doing "Vertical integration" is way different than Horizontal integration. It's immensely difficult to do "both".
At this point they should just expend into the porn market.
Snap is doing pretty good right now. They recruited a lot of good talent from FAMAG companies, engg culture is good as well. And they beat almost any other company on TC.
The folks I know in DS have good work life balance and it doesn't look like they are stressed. I'm not familiar with comp. However, different teams can have different cultures, I have heard horror stories about some DS teams at FB, and I'm sure it's the same at Snap.
Thanks for the response. How do you think employees feel in general about snaps future? People make fun of snap a lot but their stock suggests that snaps future might be brighter than people think. Also comp in general is strong at snap right? Engineering offer seem strong
Comp is strong. I don’t k ow if we are out of the woods yet but I’ve enjoyed my time here.
Nope. It’s horrible. Run!
Stack rank is pretty terrible.
Don't do it. It's Titanic
Better than booking.com
Absolutely
