I am a Sr. Product Mgr at AWS. I recently got a job offer from oracle as Sr. Dir of products. Salary and RSUs are great but I am not too sure about the quality of work and the brand impact of Oracle on my resume. Any suggestions?
What area of Pm at oracle? They pay well from what I’ve noticed , but it’s to compensate for future career death I believe. I’ve observed that people that leave Oracle go to the CA’s of the world, and then circle down into older enterprises. I’ve noticed it as the settle and circle to retirement route. You’ll be happy, pix well, and working on stuff no one in the future cares about
Oracle cloud division or something else?
Go for a few and get the title. Leave in 3 - 4 years if it’s terrible
Sr pm at Amazon is what MBA graduates join as. It's the same level as PM every where else.
@OP: can you give some info on your onsite at AWS? I have one lined up soon and I'm preparing for it. I'm doing the 14 principles, estimation and pricing questions but would love to hear first hand info on your thoughts. Thanks.
How do you get Sr Dir title from just a Sr PM? Do you manage ppl at Amazon?
