I got diagnosed with ADD and i have a hard time to be a successful swe. I dont think i am dumb (i passed amazon swe interview) but i have hard time coping with job expectation where you have to be the one to drive a project and bring it to have high impact. Any tips from other people who have add as well or anyone who has good tips? Especially if you guys are from FANG
Weed
yep, weed slows you down and helps you focus too. It’s what ADD should be prescribed ... but keep it under moderation
I think weed will make less able to focus innstead. I have seen its effects on my friends
The one guy who is supposed to use Adderall doesn't know about Adderall
Adderall and exercise
Is medication the only way for me to succedd? I kinda became super coder when on it but i hate the fact that i have to rely on medication and also having to increase dosage over time.
It’s the only way I’m able to get anything done. I have had ADD all of my life, and adderall has changed my life in only good ways. I take the smallest dose available.
How long you have been taking it? And how small is your dose? Do you feel you have to increase the dosage over time?
Is your doctor good? Can I get a referral? Want to get tested.
Find things that you find exciting to work on and work on those. When your mind loses focus get up and walk around. Accept that you’ll never be good at attention to detail and find projects where you excel without needing to pay attention to lots of mundane stuff.
