is this true for all domains in Tesla? is this something relatively new to Tesla they are asking candidates instead. this seems Weird to me specially from a company like Tesla
Incorrect. This must be IT support roles but for rest they do. My girlfriend works for them and she never had such issues (or even mentioned about this)
Bay Area tier 2 companies usually doesn’t do that. Also it is a mere 1.5k which I guess can help them onboard new candidates sooner. As per my understanding, the value addition to the company undermines the cost here.
@baldbezos: this is a Staff SRE role which is not equivalent to IT role. So u see this seems little off the chart
Hiring manager seems to be undercutting. Definitely not the norm. I interviewed with them last month and they offered premium processing to get me on board. Ultimately never accepted the offer because they couldn’t match good offer
What was the TC and how was the interview? I am interviewing with them next month for applications engineer.
This was for SDE
Autopilot team does premium processing for everyone.
So it is team specific then. What should be my next step then? I did tried to talk to HR she talked me down saying since Tesla is not cash rich, they have not seen premium processing in several years. I also have tried to contact my hiring manager but no response yet.
Don’t know about autopilot but for everyone else if you want premium processing you’ll have to pay yourself. That’s the general rule at the company. How do you think we squeezed out that profit this quarter. Basically by cutting back on all of these.
@laosos: Thanks for your clarification. Is this the same for GC process as well. As informed to me Tesla will not apply until u r in the company for a min of 6 months.
Premium processing costs more.
1500$ is not a big deal.. I am sure most wouldn’t even blink on it..
It adds up, if they’re not in hurry why pay more?
