About to graduate, which option would be better to start my career? Microsoft (Redmond, WA) -Team: Azure Networking -110k base salary -120k / 3.5 yr stock -50k signing bonus Tesla (Palo Alto, CA) -Team: Systems Software -130k base salary -125k / 4 yr stock -get to drive test fleet? ๐ Iโm leaning toward Microsoft due to cost of living and type of work, thoughts?
If it comes with Cybertruck, I would rather MSFT
Definitely Microsoft. With the cost of living adjustment you're making way more. Also wlb
Terrible feedback from many Tesla employees. I worked as a supplier nearby. Their turnover is high.
Microsoft. You should know that azure networking is a shit show.
Oh no, is it that bad?
You can always change teams later on.
Tesla, likely new tech and consumer . Microsoft - Enterprise Your choice
Tesla, since you are early in your career and can take risks. They work on new technologies and you will learn a lot you can always work for Microsoft later in your career Tesla is a resume booster than any of the FAANGs
MS has the better offer but if you go there just make sure you don't stay too long.
I hope my input is still on time. I faced same situation like you are right now when I graduted last year. I would choose Microsoft. 1. In term of compensation, Microsoft offer will be better in the long run regarding to stock and cost of living 2. At Tesla, expect long hour work and tight deadline. It is also hard to change team as well. 3. I talked with some friends at MS, look like wlb is better and easier to change team
Microsoft would be a good choice but I donโt like networking much. Do you know what you would do on the team?
Seemed like a split between building software-based networking infrastructure and testing a lot of Azure functionality
