Its not going to be good for innovation nor profits. Enough already. If not you can kiss TC goodbye. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/10/08/google-reportedly-exposed-private-data-of-at-least-hundreds-of-thousands-of-plus-users.html
Why do people think we get ceos who aren't tough leaders?
Maybe Yahoo can stop being the laughing stock of Blind after this? 🤔 FB data breach. Google data breach. Netflix is next?
hmm, the title and contents of the article do not match
Hmm, I guess you skipped over this paragraph. However, a memo prepared by Google's legal and policy staff and seen by the Journal shows that leadership was also concerned about causing a potential privacy scandal. The memo allegedly warned senior executives that news of the bug would cause "immediate regulatory interest" and draw comparisons to Facebook's Cambridge Analytica data
LOL that's legal's job. There's nothing in that article that would reasonably lead to the conclusion that Google didn't report it BECAUSE they were afraid of regulation.
Yes this was terrible, and I understand it involved tens of people who were using Google+
97.8% of the user base?
This is a shame on google
Tech doomed itself to a future of regulation when it picked one side in a two party system. WTF were you guys thinking?
Nobody picked a side, it’s self selection. Progressive minded people are more likely to build novel new things, challenge status quo, and be left leaning. Conservatives want things to remain the same and protect what once was. Thus, tech companies end up with a left leaning employee base that believe in progression.
“what you have just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.”
