We have quantum computers now and tons of companies fighting to be top of Ai... with how everything revolves around money it’s likely these Ai companies will fight to get to the end of the world sooner than later. Which company do you feel will reach that point first? When do you think this will happen? How long after the first true open Ai until it sees humans for what they really are and decide we are a money hungry poisonous virus that needs to be destroyed? How long until we actually see the first true open Ai?
You would have amazing AI for narrow tasks like playing chess, search results, recommender systems etc. But generalized AI is not happening in the near future. we haven’t even cracked image recognition fully. Despite deep learning, it’s easy to fool CNNs with one pixel attacks. For a 3 year old it’s a cake walk to recognize images and it does not need to see millions images before recognizing an image. The main problem is current AIs need to get trained with similar inputs millions of times to perfect the model. In our life, we have infinite parameters to make such general purpose AI practically impossible. So don’t hold your breadth for an AI apocalypse.
That would be awesome!!
Not enough data for an apocalypse
AI will definitely not bring apocalypse... but I'm not sure about the "null pointer exception"
That'll defeat the apocalypse like in the 'war of the worlds'
I'm working on it, give me a few more months
AI won't bring on the end of the day world, Humans will. Within the next 200 years. True open AI will see humanity as a resource not a threat.
You’re putting a lot of human bias on what the AI might value. If you’re talking about true AI that achieves a real level of self awareness it may not value anything humans do. What need does the AI have to control the economy when it needs no resources to survive other than servers? What does it gain from war? If you’re talking about a watered down version of AI that does as humans ask it then yes, we’re probably fucked.
