> But it turns out that Trump’s story of US manufacturing decline was much closer to being right than the story of technological progress being spun in Washington, New York, and Cambridge. https://qz.com/1269172/the-epic-mistake-about-manufacturing-thats-cost-americans-millions-of-jobs/
What the actual fuck? This was an honest mistake?? None of the assholes reading the data bothered to check the fucking numbers?? The fuck?
Like it or not, dude was right about a lot of things. As an immigrant myself, I believe that the steps he has taken to reform immigration policy are commendable. There is a lot more to be done but it's the right direction.
@gogoj Bro as a legal immigrant getting repeatedly fucked by his Uscis, I gotta tell you if you believe he ants to "reform immigration policy" to help immigrants of ANY type, then I've got a bridge to sell you
I'm not sure how maga is supposed to reverse this trend though. No company is going to want to hire people at 10 dollars an hour when they can get people at less than a dollar a day doing the same thing. As Americans we have to accept the fact that automation and China will be doing most of the work while we can Netflix and chill. Even more need for socialist policies so that people can just live a content but jobless life. Think wall-e.
Learn something new, doesn’t have to be code. That are get these people who want a socialist policy to get up and clean up the community
Did you even read the article? Nothing wrong with automation. Automation actually creates more job if it happens locally. The issue with this is that automation is happening in China due to capital flight (caused by disastrous policies of the prior admins). Even capital just sitting around in the US is preferable to it flying abroad. Not sure if trump’s policies would reverse it, but it’s a good start. At the very least, he’s the only one who has talked about it.
