Don't see people talk about UX Engineer much here, I've always been curious about what being a UXE at Google is like. Seems like they're hiring this position for the design team, could any UXE kindly refer me? 🙏(Will DM resume and portfolio)
I also have no idea what a UX engineer is. Plenty of people describe themselves as SWE focusing on front end or GUI but it’s usually SWE first. Do you write code? Or are you a UX designer (working in prototyping software or web or PS/Illustrator?) I have never worked at google so sorry if this a specific term they use.
My background is mostly design, but have been doing front-end coding for prototyping purpose, also have creative coding experience
It’s effectively Google’s version of the front end engineer role. The design lens focuses on prototyping. Eng lens is production front end code.
Interesting. Thanks for clarifying
I've also heard that UX engineer focus less on production ready code, that might vary case by case?
UX Researcher here What is a UX Engineer? Are you looking for a developer role or a user research role?
It more of a developer than research I assume https://careers.google.com/jobs/results/6253612213927936-ux-engineer-design-web/
