Design team? It’s an engineering office. While I don’t work there, I imagine that as a PM you’d be embedded in a team with engineers as colleagues and you’d have some PM colleagues in Seattle but only interact professionally if you both work on related products. I wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t spend time in SF from time to time to sync with other PMs working on related stuff.
That said, I’ve heard great things about that office and many friends have transferred there or are thinking about transferring there.
From what I’ve been told a design team is being built out in Seattle. Good news to hear about the culture, hearing what people were saying about Uber was scary not to long ago. The leadership changes must be working out.
