Hello, Please help me evaluate these 2 offers: Dropbox: 210/360/40 Uber: 188/660/0 Bonus seems more interesting at Dropbox as they have multipliers, and it’s based on 20% of base salary. Uber has a fixed number (21.5k). My take at a high level is that Uber is like a big bet and could go big after its IPO. Dropbox seems up and coming and has interesting new projects. Still feels to me that Dropbox is more fun and healthier environment, but at the same time it’s the best time to join Uber. Thoughts? Would that kind of pay difference make you chose Uber over Dropbox? Any insights to help me make a decision? Both roles are Sr. TPM manager. And I have 10YOE. Thank you!
Uber is TOXIC. Stay away at all costs
I agree
Been here for 3 years and the culture now is anything but toxic. Plus it really depends on the org you’re in. I like my work — it’s challenging and fun. I would argue that Uber does more new things than Dropbox. On a regular day I only interact with 20 people or less and most of them I like. I don’t plan on leaving any time soon.
I would say Uber. BTW - Its Senior Technical Program Manager role rigt?
Both are terrible! Run! Run! Run!
Compared to what? Fuck off.
The only person who got rejected at a major company was Jhdgffs, I mean...that’s why you work at Uber right? Because you can’t hack it at FB or Microsoft?
High base and bonus with assured less equity (DBX) vs lower base no bonus and assured high PAPER money (UBER)... This is like living in present vs future... I prefer living in the moment and bet less on UBER as it’s making loss and ticker might not survive the stock market...it’s brutal...good luck take care
THIS ^
i chose dropbox a bit more than 2 years ago, and its been fine so far. having said that i have friends at uber and they like it as well. youll be fine either way so id choose the team you like
Isn’t DBX super employee friendly? and their revenue growth is decent. Good enough for me
Dropbox equity is as good as uber, if not worse, and may evaporate by the time you can sell. And it’s much less than uber, so even if uber suffers a set back you are well covered. I would go with Uber.
Dbx is still 90% storage, I don't see diversification anytime soon. I'd do a couple years at uber
I am liking the projects and team at dropbox more. But major fomo on the Uber expected IPO and the high valuation expectations. Making my decision pretty hard. As I feel like it would be a great opportunity that I shouldn’t miss on. Any insights or thoughts?
Uber is a sinking ship...but so is Dropbox
Care to elaborate on Dropbox?
