Just got an offer from Cruise but not sure how to value the RSU amount. Paper money? What’s the consensus on time to liquidity event?
Why ask for help without sharing the offer..
How were the interviews? Heard they aim to ipo within 10 years
You are very off base. They are a fully owned subsidiary of GM...
well, no. SoftBank and Honda also own shares in the company. we will probably ipo within 5 years
How many YOE?
Aren't they owned by public company, GM? How can they have any value outside of parent company
It’s pretty complex but suffice to say a company A can create a company B where A owns the entire stake in B but as a legal entity B still has some autonomy from A. B can choose to raise capital in any manner it’s board (which is generally comprised of people chosen entirely by A) sees fit which can include the creation of a share pool. These shares can either be of the same type that company A owns (which is generally a mix of preferred and common stock) or a completely different type. Generally in these situations entity B, even though it is majority owned by company A, has an obligation to generate as much value for its share holders as possible and is not “completely” beholden to company A. If company B chooses to go public, shareholders of company A will be handsomely rewarded in effect because they are the true owners of company B. Sometimes share holders of company A will directly receive shares of company B based on total shares controlled. TLDR; the stock price of B moves independently of A, but As share price is affected by B as the majority stake holder
Hehe thanks. This is exactly why I bought some GM, to have the upside from Cruze
How one can predict the IPO date if company has zero revenue streams and zero customers at the moment. Almost all pre IPO companies you heard of already bring billions of revenue.
Is this for senior PM or lead PM?
290k RSU over 4 years ? I got an offer too. But lower RSU. Their cash compensation was solid though. What level PM is this for ?
Possibly never if they don’t ship ? Just being realistic here, throwing money at something doesn’t make it a real viable profitable product.
Skepticism is strong in you.
