WHERES MY PAY INCREASE (msft rant)
Everyday I witness lesser engineers getting huge payouts at google and Facebook, this must change at Microsoft! I work hard here and deserve a raise. Honestly, 200k just isn’t worth the amount of effort I put in as a new grad. I roll in the office around 1130 ready to work. WHERES MY PAY INCREASE!! I work extremely hard until 12 checking emails and I’m totally exhausted. I require a two hour lunch break just to recover. WHERES MY PAY INCREASE!! Unbelievably I’m required to fork over my hard earned money for the slop they call food. I’m so busy I can’t prepare lunch. The company is just stealing more money from my hard to live on paycheck. WHERES MY PAY INCREASE!! After 2 I begin planning my day. After deciding what to do I completely bust my ass writing several lines of code until 4. My heart and soul are drained into this company. I get home and relax all night just to recover. WHERES MY PAY INCREASE!! I sleep until 9:30 and I’m forced to do this every week four days a week. (WFH on Friday) I know others are working just as hard as me. Please stand up and demand more pay. Edit: Note to anyone joining msft avoid my team, leveraging clippy in azure to increase down time in azure (LCIATIDTIA team) like the plague, other teams have better wlb

I feel the same way. I didn't actually understand until I escalated to my director. We sat down for about an hour or so. It was pretty frustrating but I ended up convincing him to increase my pay by 6.9% after I solved 2 LC hards in the span of 30 mins.

You're being sarcastic, but this is actually true. Many Google engineers are in "rest and vest" mode with similar schedules, yet 2 to 3x the pay. Also the food is free 👌
You were low balled hard. As a new grad, you should be compensated for your studies and get a promo. Are apes not diverse enough to be fast tracked? It sounds like you need to pay a union to stop this abuse, demand more money, and a less stressful environment.
