I'm an average engineer, though at Salesforce I'm fairly considered a top performer as per performance reviews. But I consider myself an average coder, good at architecture design and systems design though. Is it enough to slog through leetCode/interviewbit for a month or two to get into the FAANG companies? How long should typical preparation for an average engineer take. I do have calls from all the companies except Netflix. Trying to estimate the amount of preparation I need to put in. 7+ years of exp btw.
Once you are comfortable tackling all the company tagged leetcode questions, you are ready
No one can tell you how long it will take. You should be able to solve most LC mediums within 30 mins to have a shot at FB/G. Amazon is a bit easier coding wise, tougher behavioral wise. No idea bout Netflix and Apple.
Any thoughts on how interviewbit correlates with Amazon interview?
I have no idea about interviewbit, sorry. But my interview rounds were mostly direct from LC mediums with small twists.
Could take 2 weeks to prep, could take 6 months. Really depends on you.
Good thing is at salesforce you have plenty of time to prep and lots of conference rooms to take interviews.
I prepared for a couple of weeks. I would allocate 3-4 weeks if I were to do it again.
first of all, disconnect your performance at work with interview prep, there is no correlation. Any leetcode π can pass FAANG.
makes sense
It's sad the process is broken
