Want to learn data science
Pretty fluent in excel but want to have data science as a skill set. Is SQL a pretty standard and helpful language to learn?

SQL and (python or R) should be the minimum. Know your stats too.

SQL and python, I think R is going away
Learn statistics and R and you can be a data scientist yesterday. SQL is not helpful.
data science is a really vague term, but I’d argue a majority of DS jobs will require SQL at a minimum to access data.
