- Microsoft bdtcmoreFuck Rhode Island piece of shit tiny stupid ass state! What the fuck is a Rhode??
- @Tier1 I agree that he's innocent until proven guilty, but by that logic the bar for officials elected to statewide office rises only to the level that they not be criminally convicted in a court of law. If you think that's a good enough standard - and apparently half of the Alabaman electorate thinks so - it kind of makes my point. You can't have such shitty standards AND pedal the mythology of American exceptionalism all at once. To be clear, I love this country and I do believe in American exceptionalism (though it's meaning in current discourse has been twisted by politicians on left and right). The fact is that the USA is exceptional in spite of Alabama, and not because of it.
@pfdP78 literally every other state, really? First and foremost please look up how to use literally, you clearly don't get it. And to get back to facts, it's only some holdout states in the deep South that still subscribe and cling onto these archaic ideas and constructs around racial supremacy. Most othrt states have, through legislation or edicts of elected officials apologized or expressed remorse in some way for their historical sins. Before you go there - no, that's doesn't mean there aren't people with similar views in those states. But it does make visiting them a whole lot more palatable for anyone with an understanding of American history, especially with the current administration in office.
- If they were Weinstein apologists in office here, I would try my darndest though granted it'd be easier said than done. Lucky for me, there aren't any apologists in office here. Also, it's convenient how you ignored the racial aspect of the previous argument in your response - very telling.
