Roger Stone is the next guy in a long line of dudes going to jail for breaking the law in an effort to benefit Trump. Two new stooges are arrested. Rudy has one foot in jail cell. Gordon Sandland dodged the bullet and adjusted his testimony. All of them are well off, educated man, who know the law. They were willing to risk freedom and commit a crime for him? Why? What is that so attractive in him that they are ready to make such sacrifice?
Corruption. It benefitted themselves to work with Trump.
Enough to go to jail?
Well, they obviously didn’t think they’ll be caught. Or, maybe they know their dumb and blind base will support them no matter what.
Roger Stone's convictions were the result of entrapment once the investigation started. Had nothing to do with Trump.
He did not lie under oath?
You don’t know what entrapment means. No one enticed him to commit a crime he wouldn’t have otherwise committed. Instead he lied under oath to cover for Trump, among other things. The jury thus convicted on all counts.

My guess is they hoped working with Trump and being loyal would give them more leverage and clout in the flux of a post-Christian Right Republican Party. For ideologies like maybe Stephen Miller that means pushing agendas, for someone like Giuliani imo probably just more influence in the party, someone with the ear of a President who is erratic and hard to pin down.
All of them will be pardoned after 2020 elections if he is not reelected to. He can choose to wait till 2024 otherwise. But they can be tried on the State charges though.
Michael Cohen explained once that Trump has a way of poisoning your soul. But by bit, day by day, until you’ve lost track of who you are. You defend a little of his bullshit, day by day, until finally your defending some bigly bullshit. And you’ve been doing it for years, and you’re complicit, and to face the reality of Trump would also require you to face the reality of how you sold your soul.
Flynn’s case is being appealed, looks like he’s going to get off Do the overage in the Pardison court that convicted him I expect stones case will be similar on appeal. Cohen’s charges had nothing to do with the Trump campaign. You guys are getting played this is how our corrupt establishment plays ball, they smear people with bullshit allegations (that don’t stick, they depend on the public being stupid) to try to create an association of criminality. Deflect, distract, spin, float conspiracy theory wrapped in conspiracy theories, “you’re brainwashed by the MSM and thus don’t know what is really going on”, and so forth. The disinformation campaign starts with Trump. Every day, every time he opens is mouth. “Alternative facts” are lies.
Remember when you’re innocent till proven guilty? His case is still pending so you might be the ones eating your words friend. Pretty dangerous when you’re so sure yourself and yet obviously unaware of how his case has been evolving.
