Measure your salary in sq ft of housing per year (after taxes) and you are probably stinking rich. If you take home $80k that's 266 sq ft per year which is $300k - $500k in Palo Alto.

It's less. Oregon also has state income tax so not sure you will be saving much compared to Bay area.
State income is not that much, dude. 100k for 2 yoe in Oregon is good.
