FIRE means financial independence retire early. For those who are seeking to FIRE, what are your target amounts and how do you plan on building your wealth? LeanFIRE- $1m FIRE - $1-5m FatFIRE - $5m+ I’m personally going for $4m as I’d like to be able to take care of my parents and family. Also would prefer to stay in a high cost of living city. Currently building wealth through work, and aggressively investing my income in equities and peer-to-peer lending. TC: $320k NW: $1.2m
If you guys think you would be happy after retirement then it's not going to happen. Happiness is a choice.
Who said anything about being happy? This is about having freedom to do whatever interests you, even if it’s not economically feasible
I personally like playing a game opposite to FIRE called r/wallstreetbets 😘
A man of culture I see.
Freedom and independence is a myth. You cant ever be free in life of responsibilities. I have heard from my coworker who has millions that no money ever is sufficient to retire early. Because as you age you will almost need more money then you think now. As you age you would think money needed to retire would also increase. That's why vp and CEO and presidents are not retiring. They already have 4mn plus
Not sure I'd consider 3MM fatfire. Maybe 10MM.
It's weird to me there's a group of people working so hard to not work anymore. I'd rather focus on working on something enjoyable, hard or not, long or short.
Once you retire you can work on whatever you want
No I can't. Can you work on spaceX rockets, self driving cars or any other world changing technology when you're just one person, retired?
Wildfire, burn them all!
Living life one day at a time. No 🔥
FatFIRE, ftw.
Best thing is to fucktire not retire
