Core license AEs can make a boat load, much more than what you describe. Even a SSEM can have a TC of what you mention. The point is once you exceed your goal it can get notoriously high.

Ciscos top AMs in NYC and SF (high cost of living adjustment) = $300k OTE at 100%. 40/60 base + commissions. With multipliers over 100% easily well over the 300k.
Is Cisco still a hot seller?
Really depends how talented you are and what the comp plan is. You want to be on achievable goal environment and if you are paid on attainment, you want to know you can hit 200,300% of goal.
