Also please don’t follow Indian Media for immigration news. They are fear mongerers and often interpret things differently and spread wrong news. Stick to your lawfirm updates, uscis website and good reputed immigration law firms in US. Don’t believe anything till you see actual publications from USCIS and DOL.

This is the best comment ever. Never ever read an indian media website for immigration related news. They always misinterpret and the article is always a click bait. Always rely on good sources like the ones mentioned above.

As an Indian I welcome this move. Hard-working immigrants like me with real degrees & real jobs will have a better chance at the H1B lottery now that the gamers (with fake degree, experience, and non-direct jobs) will have their work cut out.

Bill specifically aimed at Indian outsourcing companies. Those directly working at the sponsoring company shouldn’t be affected.

I am on H1B and I support this new rule. H1B lost its shine just because of these Indian outsourcing companies abuse of rules, wages and skills. It's high time to stop these abuses.

A body(US tech economy) is infested by a group of parasites(body shops and ‘vendors’). Instead of using ultra invasive methods which may kill most of the parasites but also harm healthy cells, why not boost the cells’ immunity so that they can get rid of the parasites less invasively? Why not convert Rip apart H1B and replace it with a Work Visa system that is between an individual and the state? Give your guest workers economic freedom to work wherever they are hired while having a minimum tax dollars paid to extend work permit law? Would be a win-win for US workers, foreign workers and any company that is not parasitic.

‘And anybody with any skill can work any job’.... why is that a bad thing? As long as they meet certain criteria eg: total income earned/ taxes paid, they are a net gain to the economy

Why would you let someone in and take up one work permit to find out a year later they didn't work and kick them out? If I'm going to let someone in my house, either I'm going to follow them everywhere or someone I trust is. I'm not going to let them in only to find out they're stealing my shit and have to call the cops. What is the benefit to US for doing this?

It may not be a bad thing for you but it is a bad thing for USCIS to fund the resources to handle the load. Points based doesn't help handle the load when filing isn't done by sponsors. It's the difference of posting a job with a title and requirements with years of experiences, degree and number of references vs posting a job that says, "a position is available in our company, all interested please apply". The amount of resources to handle this load would increase by at least an order of magnitude..

“I'm going to follow them everywhere or someone I trust is.” If that’s the attitude of a country towards immigrants and legal foreigners, they are honestly better off completely shutting down immigration.

You apparently think everyone wanting to get into the US are good people.
