What makes your respect/disrespect them?
That guy fucks!
Courage, good judgment / instincts, integrity, and leadership. Calling it like he or she sees it, and owning up to mistakes at times.
Delegation. A good CEO knows the boundaries of their strengths/knowledge and delegates to the people in their company who can do a better job at whatever the task is, while making sure they have what they need.
Strong technical background in the field, humbleness, humanity, integrity, vision. In tech, I want to see CEOs who have built tech with their hands at some point. Like Zuck, like Musk, like Page & Brin. I don't believe in and don't feel any respect for those who have climbed there with connections, MBAs and other credentials and no sweat in the field. I think any company where the CEO doesn't have to code anymore has enough people around the CEO to run supporting functions like finance, business, hr etc so he can focus on developing the future vision of the company. Otherwise you end up with lunatics who waste money, push for short term goals which are not sustainable, fuck the reports, sell the stock and disappear.
Two totally different questions! For the title: knowing her limits and hire people smarter / more experience than her on these topics (eg tim cook for logistics for steve jobs) For the other question is mainly charisma
