Where would you live in Europe?
Looking for a change of job/city. Which city in Europe is the best to live in terms of TC, quality of live and potential to save money for a Soft. Eng. with 15 yoe? Current TC: 70K/Barcelona
Everyone pays shit in London, it's kinda unbelievable - and there isn't much good food out there. If you go to Dublin, the tech scene is a little more present. Still not much for food, but the people are more fun.
That’s not entirely true. Jane Street, Two Sigma, Palantir and Improbable in London pay very well.
A lot more places pay very well. You can get upwards of £300k as a senior tech person in banking. I know multiple people at Facebook and Google London with TC above 300/400k as well.
Zurich, London, Amsterdam in that order

Fintech companies and maybe FB in Europe are the only ones paying similar TC as the Valley for tech roles in London. Otherwise Zurich is the place to go. Dublin’s weather is horrible although the city is small and with a more concentrate tech scene compared to London (which is going to lose a lot of jobs because of Brexit). Therefore it’s easy to switch jobs as all the big tech firms have an engineering hub there. Amsterdam has a better WLB like all the other Western European countries to be honest

Currently in Munich, nothing much here (maybe except G). I would rather be in Zurich, Dublin, Amsterdam, London in that order.
