I know cars are depreciating assets. But which one is the best one in terms of respect, luxury, maintenance and fuel costs. Edit 1: Maybe I should have been more clear. I know cars depreciate. So please don't give me that "cars isnt an investment" crap. Tesla's can actually save your life (autopilot, sensors, etc) . Maybe you're stuck in some mountain range, your only hope is your car. My question is which car would be great in terms of getting respect (probably gonna go down the areanged marriage way), luxury (in terms of riding the vehicle), maintenance (normal wear and tear) and fuel costs (gas, free electricity, etc?
Except for the Audi and Bmw, none of these are really luxury cars. Buy a used car, and look for one that will give you more miles to the gallon ( Hybrids and Plugins). You will save a ton of money and trips to the fucking gas stations, given the bay area traffic situation.
None. Cars are not an “investment”
Agree with this, cars are not investment.
No offense but please see my edit
In terms of respect.... Material objects don't get you respect, son
Cars are liabilities
Respect? If you don't drive like an asshole. Doesn't really matter what you drive, although you will get pinged as a douche if you think your expensive car demands respect.
Say a lemon costs you y during the time you owned it. And Prius costs you x. The y-x is money saved. Sure it’s not an appreciating asset but can’t discount the savings, piece of mind, flexibility etc.
You shouldn’t have Honda Accord and Mazda 6 in the list if you want luxury
67 mustang
are you really asking which car will get you more one night stands before you get married? i don’t understand the question
All of these will depreciate heavily and none of thee are considered luxury. Used 911s are the only cars that won’t depreciate heavily, may even appreciate if you get the right year.
That being said, if you plan to put a lot of miles on, then it’s a different conversation. Then I would go with used Tesla P models.
Toyota 4Runner, Land Cruiser, FJ Cruiser and Lexus LX/GX also depreciate less bad than other cars. Not sure all of them can be considered luxury/sporty, though, obviously.
