His professional advice as a psychologist is good maybe even excellent. However his political ideas are mostly toxic. The danger I see is that people who get helped by his professional advice are then receptive to his regressive social and relatively sophomoric political views.
Imo his reasoning is suspect when it comes to social dynamics and he has confused statements about how things have been, with statements about how things ought to be or always would have been. However I suspect he may have been doing it all on purpose given his credentials, at least as a professor. He may have seen an opportunity and pandered his way into relevancy which, honestly, I respect.
It's been a while since I listened to him, but I remember once thinking to myself that he's one of the most brilliant people I've been impacted by. I'll definitely be introducing my kids to his lectures and talks when they're older. As far as I can tell, the only thing he's done that's against Leftist orthodoxy is acknowledge average differences between men and women, and ack that men cannot be women. That's enough to be labeled as a racist bigoted homophobe Nazi by the fascist left who want to quell ideas that go against their religion (Leftism).

He has no idea what he's talking about when it comes to postmodernism and his political arguments are inconsistent and psuedo-intellectual. He needs to stay in his lane and only talk and psychology and self-help.
If you’re actually curious and not just trying to make a point, I would suggest looking up ContraPoints’ video on Jordan Peterson. Pretty informative about why some of his views are dangerous - she also approaches it fairly, i.e. does not shit on everything he talks about.
I respect ContraPoints videos, usually entertaining and thought provoking.
