I blame the impact driven culture. People move on after shipping shit and claim “launched”.
Exactly why I heard the wlb sucks in aws. Short term gains.
And probably the best, given the interviews are so difficult. Or they way these interviews work is wrong
Managers don't know how to manage effectively and young kids willing to burn themselves out because they don't know any better.
I doubt it
Honestly if you ever go to the menlo park campus, its literslly the best place to be around there. So people stay because what else would you do? Eat worse food for more money?
How bad??
PSC culture. Everyone driving for that Exceeds. Must have impact or you’re out.
Aka hyper political
Facebook is extremely bloated. The fact that we still hire like crazy means there’s more competition for impact within any part of the app with every single new hire. We are not successful much starting new products and we can’t stretch FB family of apps indefinitely. The more we hire - the more shitty experiments we are able to run, and new feature or experiment failure rate is just increasing. But guess what, you still need to meet all the high expectations for your level. So people end up working crazy hours.
You got Zuckered
Can’t cuck the zuck
