Hello all, looking for advice or explanation. I had tried a couple of times, different years, different openings to get a job at Microsoft. I have friends who helped me getting my resume inside so a "recruiter" could help me. So far, nothing happened, not even a follow up from the recruiter, not an email, or a phone call....response:=null Is it really hard to get in...? Are they looking for keywords in your resume..? Or simply I am too old for them..? I have over 25 years of experience as SE, securoty, networking, etc...your advice will be appreciated it. May thr Force be with you.
Ur LinkedIn profile is more important than ur resume, be sure it looks impressive
Good idea....thanks for the heads up..

Recruiting process is shit, it is very hard to get them to evaluate referrals. If there is an opening in any of the teams where you know people, it should be easy to get an interview
It's probably your age. The tech industry is ageist l
I submitted several referrals to MS and none of my candidates have been selected. I was really surprised because one of my referrals had a ton of industry experience, a CS degree, a master degree and an MBA from a top school.
MS recruiter reached out to me, I was not interested in working for MS at all but sent my resume for fun. 8 teams were interested in interviewing me and all jobs were complete mismatch for my background. I did phone screen for fun and was invited for on-site and since I fancied a free trip to Seattle I accepted. Enjoyed Redmond, toured MS offices, had interview practice, wined and dined, all paid for by MS 😃. Hiring manager said my background did not match what he was looking for 😂.
Referrals should send resume to hiring manager. Skip recruiters.

I wish you good luck, because you need to get out of ChemPoint as fast as you can.
Despite all the hate on blind for Microsoft, it’s still a top tier company and is not at all easy to get into. However, with your experience you should at the very least get an interview - good luck!
Thank you..
