engineering mgr at juniper
asking for a friend: yoe 10 yrs current tc: 185k currently an IC he has an offer from juniper nw for an engg mgr role. tc offered- 215k obviously tc is higher, but how is the company doing? hearing a lot of horror stories.
Not a great place to be right now but that depends a lot on the team as well. With that YOE shouldnt be easily get around 350k elsewhere?
Which team? As a whole, I concur that company is not in the limelight.

Ex JNPR here. It is in a pretty bad shape. Most talented folks left already, it is a sinking ship. There will be layoffs every quarter, but since your friend is a manager he might be shielded. I have never seen a manager let go till now. Work life balance is great, can chill down and work <10 hrs a week still be on the top of stack ranking. My team was cut down from 14 to 3 in 1.5 years, even though the team is working on the no 1 priority project for the company.
That’s what a friend of mine said after Cisco lay-off last week.
Come on, you know you are asking for yourself!!! Don’t be shy now. You should not be worried if you are Indian despite all the negativity about this company.
