Currently at google and looking to leave. What are companies with similar compensation with offices in new york? Open to tech and finance but not trying to join a startup (unicorns are fine)
Look at hedge funds, high frequency trading firms, and boutique finance companies. Those pay the most.
I’ve heard slack pays pretty well
Amazon, Uber, Lyft, Slack, remote Stripe if you have remote experience.
Are you in the Google NYC office right now? That seems like the best gig there.
This post may serve to warn the west coasters that you are in a bubble. A bubble of awareness as well as a financial bubble. NYC has seen it and done it all — which is why you are finding a lack of inflated TCs there, yet high real estate that mostly trades sideways. Nobody is in a panic over timing real estate in NYC, it has matured. Same with pay. This SF and Seattle bubble shit is for children, though I admit we are talking about serious money. I miss the maturity of NYC, I’m finding this other coast to be very childish.
NYC is awesome. I miss it a lot.
