I've been reached out by two recruiters from Facebook, one for data engineer role, the other one is for data scientist. Due to recent news about FB, I hesitated for about a week before telling them that I am interested (no hurt interviewing right?), but both of them left Facebook already, which makes me start to doubt it again. Is it still a good time to join FB now? Role: BIE TC: 140k
I think OP is trying to bottom out before going up. Might follow up with them about it.
I wouldn’t join FB today but maybe in 2 years if things are better for them
Stay away
worth joining to get another big name on your resume. FB hiring bar is much more respected than Amazon, so it’s worth it.
Op already has Amazon on resume, it’s good enough. Go take some risks and join a startup!
Microsoft and Amazon are Tier 2 compared to FB, G, Uber and NFLX. It’s definitely worth adding to your resume if it aligns with your career goals.
Or join now because the work looks interesting and you’re getting the stock at a two year low before it bounces back
I say go to a startup and forget both
You likely wouldnt pass the bar anyways. This is as idiotic as those kids that ask should they consider harvard before even applying.
True dat 🤣
I would say you are right and wrong. I did fail DS interview once at FB, but that was even before I joined Amazon, didn't have much on resume. I got FB offer for analyst position earlier this year but since it's not DS so didn't take it. I have the chance to pass the DS bar now, that's why I'm hesitating, if it was a few years ago, I wouldn't even try.
The ship already started sinking. Just go to your FB page and check News Feed, they are showing popular click-bait videos in News Feed now, instead of updates from your connections. Because they lost the audience and user activity, no more information overload in the feed from your connections. These are last pieces of money stolen by FB through click-bait videos.
Join now while stock price is low. I think it will go back up to $175 easily.
