Hi, my wife got SDE-2 ( Level 61) Offer from Microsoft Redmond. Microsoft offered her Base : 1,28,500 Sign-on Bonus: 15,000 Stocks : 25,000 (vests over 4 years) Her work ex experience : 5 Years (in India) Her last company is Microsoft India , worked there for few months and she quit and moved to Seattle and appeared again for Microsoft, Redmond as an external . Is this a good offer? can we negotiate for more? ***** EDITED Negotiations ended up at Base : 1,28,500 <-- Same as Offered Sign-on Bonus: 20,000 Stocks : 30,000 (vests over 4 years)
She can definitely negotiate for more given that she has another offer. Especially stocks could be much higher. Edit : Each component could be higher. Their standard offer for sde2 I've seen is around 140k base, 20-40 sign on and 80 stocks over 4 years.
Horrible lowball. Why does Microsoft lowball so much for industry hires?
