travelling with 6 months remaining stem opt
Hi all, i would like to know if it is safe to travel out of usa and back with 6 months remaining on stem opt? I am a ft employee not a contractor as well. Has anyone done this recently? thanks in advance!

How long are you out? If it's less than 30 days - it's probably okay. But if you are returning when you have only 30 days left - that raises eyebrows and validates the check to ask why you are back after a long break. Even then, it's case by case and it depends. You can always justify that you are back to liquidate your assets before you move back when you barely have days left on your status. Technically, as long as you are have a valid status when you return - it really shouldn't matter. I'd advise you take a strong letter of recommendation from your employer and also all documents that will help verify and establish your status once you return.
