uber pool blows
what’s the point of the 2 min countdown if you cant get a ride in that time frame. 4 min and still waiting. lyft, just as bad.

Uber pool is so cheap it really does blow ... My mind.
Why is there even a 2 minute countdown? Is it just to hastle the customer? Both Uber and Lyft have the exact same requirements for the discount pool.
It's game theory- we have to match the other. If Lyft pool is easier to use then we'll lose to them. If Uber pool is easier then Lyft loses to us. So equilibrium is achieved at whatever inconvenience/price level people have shown they value and that equilibrium is maintained across both apps
But why the timer at all? Is there a reason or just to annoy the customer?
At least uber will let you know that all pool drivers are busy at the moment. Lyft just continues searching forever until you cancel the ride
You should try it in NYC where it goes from 6 to 9 to 11 and then to 6 again and it stays there and never comes.
Let me translate it for the benefit of the community “What is the point of the 2 minute countdown if you cannot get a ride in that time? It’s 4 minutes now and I am still waiting 🙁”
